Drawing inspiration from the monumental Palm Column of Pharaoh Sahure (c. 2458–2446 BCE), housed in the museum's collection, this unique piece evokes the elegance of ancient Egyptian forms. Its deep piano black finish harmoniously blends historical charm with a modern, refined aesthetic, infusing the interior with an aura of timeless splendor.
HISTORIC ORIGINS
The Aswan side table is inspired by the monumental column that once surrounded the open courtyard in Pharaoh Sahure's pyramid temple. The stone for this table was quarried in Aswan and then transported over 800 kilometers to the pyramid's construction site in Abusir. The original was one of sixteen columns, carved from single blocks of granite. Our table pays homage to the timeless power and craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian architecture, bringing the spirit of this magnificence to contemporary interiors.
