HISTORIC ORIGINS
The Hibis Chandelier draws inspiration from one of the earliest examples of a composite capital from the Temple of Amun at Hibis, located in the Kharga Oasis in Egypt. The original, now located at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, is distinguished by its elegant design, combining papyrus and foxtail flatsedge motifs. This design reflects the extraordinary craftsmanship of ancient artists and the artistic heritage that The Met carefully preserves and passes on.
