HISTORIC ORIGINS
The Tryon floor lamp draws inspiration from the library of The Cloisters – a branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art dedicated to the art and architecture of medieval Europe. The Met Cloisters, opened to the public in 1938 on Manhattan's north side, houses approximately 15,000 volumes covering decorative arts, sculpture, architecture, painting, stained glass, and illuminated manuscripts.
