HISTORIC ORIGINS
The Piazza dining table draws inspiration from a Catalan column shaft (ca. 1130–1140) located in The Cloisters – a branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art dedicated to medieval art and architecture. The original marble and stone column, crafted in what is now France, stands in the Cuxa cloister, reconstructed from fragments of the 12th-century Benedictine monastery of Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa. The Piazza table recreates the serene and simple form of its medieval predecessor, transforming it into a contemporary, elegant piece of travertine furniture that blends heritage with modern aesthetics.
